Growing up I played multiple sports (soccer, swimming, paintball) because I enjoy the competition. During my undergraduate, I formed negative nutrition habits and with the absence of competition, I eventually found myself overweight. I am fortunate to have a spouse who is health-conscious; her genuine concern led me to fall in love with fitness.
When I began CrossFit, I thought I was in good shape. I would lift weights a few times a week and had decent strength. I can recall my first WOD like it was yesterday, 50 Burpee Pull-Ups with 6 KB swings EMOM. I also have the memory of failing to complete that WOD as the time approached 48 minutes and I was failing to get through the KB swings. This was my turning point. I joined my first box, fell in love with the community, and never looked back. Ultimately it was my need for a positive, inclusive community that led me to join CrossFit Be Someone.
A few years into my fitness journey, I eventually hit a plateau in performance and did not look or feel the way I wanted to. This is when I began focusing on nutrition. I truly believe nutrition is the foundation of our fitness and through nutrition, we can build a hedge against sickness. When we couple it with conditioning, we build that hedge exponentially. But without a solid nutritional foundation, we will always be taking one step forward and a half step back. Inside the box, I leverage my engineering experience to simplify complex movements. I am your biggest cheerleader, always there to listen, and ready to guide you through your journey to wellness.
