The great Mohammed Ali once said, "He who is not courageous enough to take risks will achieve nothing in life".
Think about how fearless a baby is. They see their parents or siblings walking and think "I want to do that". Even though they have never walked, they believe they can. Their parents don't have to convince them, they already have made the decision. They take their first step and immediately bust their butt. They cry or laugh and then try again. Then they try again. Then they try again. Then they try again. Then they try again. You see where I am going with this, they don't give up on themselves until they accomplish their goals. They are relentless. They are fearless.
They learn to walk and now they want to run. Then they want to jump and by the time you realize it, they are on top of the counter stealing cookies from the cookie jar. It is absolutely amazing how many risks a kid takes. Think about how much you accomplished from the age of 0-5 years old. You went from someone who only knew how to cry, eat, sleep and poop to a fully functioning human who is now in school.
The way it happened was by taking risks. The comfort zone is safe but growth does not occur there. You have to push your margins of experience in life just like you did as a baby or even in the gym. But just like the baby or the gym, you can start by taking small risks. You would not want to go from ring rows one day to full ring muscle ups the next day. You're going to build to it. Do the same for life. Crawl, walk and then run.
Want to open your own business? Start off by finding a business mentor or industry mentor. Then set a start date for your business. Then register your business name. Then create a social media page. Then speak about your business consistently on your social media page of how you can help. And then from there continue to build slowly. But what you are doing is taking a risks which at the end of the day, you'll learn a lot about yourself which leads to growth!
